Mark your calendars and come see some of the best bred Holsteiners on the east coast! Event will begin early at Riverside Equestrian Center in Bluemont VA on Wednesday September 30, 2009. There will be a local equine artist art show open during the approvals.

Riverside Equestrian Center's driveway

Riverside Equestrian Center is a state of the art training facility. Footing is excellent and mirrors are on the far end short side. There is an observation room on the second floor, wash stall, bath room and mated 12 x 12 stalls.

Stalls: $45.00 at Riverside Equestrian Center. Overflow will be at Cloverlone's Chilly Bleak Farm on Frogtown Road in Marshall, Va.

Negative coggins required and health certificate required for those coming from out of state.

Arrival time Riverside Equestrian Center: 6:00 PM Sept 29

Arrival time Cloverlone: Cloverlone is a reproduction center for board certified theriogenologist Dr. W. B Ley. The farm is always open to outside mares, foals and stallions. Feel free to come a few days in advance if you are traveling a long distance. Braiding - Riverside Equestrian Center staff is available for braiding: $35.00

Handler - We have one of the best in the country! King Garcia ($100.00). He handled the RPSI Champion and Reserve Champion at DAD for Melanie Pai: Rascaletta CR and Flavina. He was also recently the hired handler for Oldenburg inspections at Crosiadore Farm.

3. Turn RIGHT onto CLAYTON HALL RD * DO NOT take Snickersville Pike (it is quite steep!!!) 0.4 mi
4. Turn LEFT onto SNICKERSVILLE TURNPIKE. 0.6 mi

  US-29 N (Charlottesville, Culpeper, etc. from Richmond you might cut cross country on  
1. Merge onto US-17 SPUR N toward US-17 N/WINCHESTER/US-15-BR/WARRENTON/US-29-BR/I-66 W/I-81.  
2. Merge RIGHT onto JAMES MADISON HWY/US-17 N. Continue to follow US-17 N. 9.4 mi
3. US-17 N becomes WINCHESTER RD/US-17 BR N. 0.7 mi
4.

WINCHESTER RD/US-17 BR N becomes RECTORTOWN RD/VA-710.

When you get to Marshall after crossing 66 there is a McDonalds, grocery store and diesel. You must turn left at the light in Marshall to get to the 2 diesel stations. Otherwise Upperville is your next and only stop for fueling. It is easier to turn around with a trailer in Marshall!!!

If you are coming to Cloverlone, stay on Rectortown Rd and turn right on Frogtown Rd. (about 3.5 mi). Chilly Bleak is first drive on left.

Upperville Restaurants:

Hunters Head Tavern is really quite close to approval site. Go south (right out Riverside Equestrian Center driveway) on Foggy Bottom until you get to Greengarden. Turn right and stay straight (turns to gravel last 2 miles). At stop sign turn right onto Rt 50 (you are just west of Upperville Show Grounds) and Hunters Head is on the right. This is my favorite restaurant and I recommend the chicken pot pie!!! All is organic and grown at Ayrshire Farm just up Trapp Road.
